Roma Norte is an iconic neighborhood in Mexico City that offers a rich blend of history, culture, and architecture. Within this vibrant community is the renowned taco spot called “Los Alexis,” situated on Chiapas Street.
Designed by local studio RA Arquitectos, this unique eatery pays homage to the lively street food scene by recreating the authentic taste of “changarros” within its commercial space. The menu features two tantalizing tacos – Taurinos and Asada.
The concept of Los Alexis engenders an immersive experience that stimulates your senses with a captivating fusion of colors, textures, and aromas.
Despite its modest 15m² size, the interior design creates an otherworldly ambiance that transports you from your surroundings into a whole new realm of gastronomic delight. Central to the design is a mesmerizing broken mosaic composition enveloping the kitchen, serving as the centerpiece of this remarkable establishment.
Drawing inspiration from Art Deco influences prevalent in the Roma neighborhood, vibrant colors are skillfully juxtaposed against a contrasting backdrop. The curved and linear contours enhance the overall visual appeal while carefully crafted lighting arrangements create an evocative atmosphere boasting a delightful play of contrasts.
